Mont Saint-Dominique
The construction of Mont Saint-Dominique, the new convent of the Dominicaines des Saints-Anges Gardiens located on the site of the former Galt house, was completed in 1967. Four years later, the Dominicaines decided to reorganize the convent and convert it into a home for the elderly. As early as 1974, the order obtained a permit from the ministère des Affaires sociales du Québec to admit a maximum of 35 residents. In 1979, this number was raised to 50. The property was finally sold in 2012.
